The Future Path Service is designed for situations where an individual’s work ability has declined and a new, more suitable role is needed. The coaching is entirely voluntary and intended for cases where the organization’s own measures have been exhausted and no permanent solution has yet been found.
Who Is the Future Path Service For?
Our Future Path Service is designed for individuals facing challenges in performing their work duties. These challenges may relate to work ability, motivation, or skills. We provide personalized support to help you move forward when your career feels stuck.
When needed, our service also includes guidance on financial support, rehabilitation options, and applying for vocational rehabilitation. We work in partnership with both the employee and the employer—always with full confidentiality and respect for each individual’s situation.
A Responsible Employer Cares for Its People
As part of its responsibility, an employer must always first explore the possibilities for an employee to continue in their current role. If this is not feasible and internal redeployment options have been exhausted, a responsible employer can offer access to the Future Path Service. Through this service, we help the individual find a new, suitable role that aligns with their abilities and circumstances.
Implementation of the Future Path Service
The Future Path Service fits seamlessly as part of an organization’s early support model. Effective collaboration requires clear internal communication about the purpose of the service and how it can be utilized.
When implementing the Future Path Service, we train the organization’s key personnel and explain how the service works in practice. Typically, participants in the training include management, supervisors, employee representatives, occupational safety personnel, and occupational health professionals. When needed, we work closely with occupational health services and supervisors to ensure smooth collaboration and successful implementation.
Case Example: Referral to the Service
The employee has had recurring, unexplained sick leaves over an extended period, with varying underlying causes. The challenges of working in a three-shift schedule have been particularly demanding. In cooperation with occupational health services, the employee was granted a partial sickness allowance and worked part-time for five months. After returning to full-time work, the same issues reappeared, leading to repeated sick leaves. An application for vocational rehabilitation was submitted together with occupational health services, but the decision was negative.
The situation is difficult for both the employee and the employer, and a solution is needed. The employer has no alternative role within the organization that would better suit the employee’s health condition. This is a common example of a situation where our Future Path Service can provide valuable support and help find a sustainable way forward.
How Can You Access the Service?
Our coaches are experienced professionals located across Finland. The service can be provided either in person or remotely—whichever best suits your needs.
